STUDIO is pleased to share resources with parents,
teachers, artists, and others in the arts-in-education field. This section
will grow over time to include lesson plans, guides, reports, glossaries,
bibliographies, and more -- all intended to assist in establishing a place
for art in each child's day.
- The Bank Street College of Education conducted
a half-year study of STUDIO's Early Childhood Program. Working
in public-school kindergarten classrooms (at STUDIO sites and control
sites), the Bank Street researchers studied the effect of the program
on children's academic learning, with a particular focus on expressive
language. Read the Executive

- "Creating Room for Art" provides helpful
ideas for establishing art - making it and valuing it - as a vital part
of the school day. The pamphlet, created for STUDIO by Artist/Instructor
Kristi Pfister, was developed for classroom teachers but can also be
adapted by parents for conducting art activities at home. View
the PDF (file size is 3.5mb).
