Collage: Learning Takes Shape

As Skills Develop and Artists Grow

As skills develop and artists grow, they want to use their abilities to tell stories, describe their lives, express their feelings, and imagine new worlds of shape, texture, and color. They learn how to create unique spaces and interesting characters. They use collage to help them figure out how things go together in the real world, and how "made-up" things can also be made to look convincing and important. Their work becomes more complex as they develop more technical dexterity. They become adept at observing and responding to artwork and this enhances their own creativity.
