Shape: Understanding that shapes are created by connected lines that enclose a space and that these shapes can be totally invented invites the creation of an imaginative use of different lines to create all kinds of shapes. Students become aware of the difference between geometric shapes and shapes that we make up. Working with an emphasis on the word “large” students have the opportunity to explore shapes and to make several using the different lines they have just learned.
