Who We Are What does STUDIO need in order to continue our work and to capitalize on the momentum in the public schools? You. Frankly, we need more friends who know about STUDIO and the work we do, and we also need your support. Toward that end, we founded the Studio in a School Associates with the goal of bringing together a group of people who wanted to help us do good work, while having a good time. Over the past few years, we have had some extraordinary events. We have visited STUDIO programs in action; celebrated our Spring Benefit "An Evening of Art and Amusement," at the Briggs-Robinson Gallery (special thanks to Associate member and co-gallery owner Nick Robinson for generously donating this space), participated in a Tribeca studio crawl of some of our teaching artists; had a private tour of Frank Stella's studio; toured the art installation in the former Tweed Courthouse (which is now the Department of Education) led by board member Dorothy Lichtenstein; learned about the art of pop-up books through a private tour of the Cooper Hewitt Library collection; and a private walking tour of "The Gates" led by Agnes Gund followed by an exclusive reception attended by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. It's been a great few years, and we are planning many exciting events for our future. How To Join To join the Associates Committee, please download this Membership form or contact : Kim Watson |
